Tyres tyres tyres..

I have used the mitas E09 rears for some time now and for me they are a fantastic.Cheapish, long lasting (approximately 4-5 months out of the rear) and for the mixed riding I do they fit the bill. But lately I have read good reviews of the mitas E12 rally , so I couldn't help myself and ordered one, at present they only come in 140 80 18 and I'm not sure if they plan on adding more sizes.First impressions are wow the weight difference is huge in comparison to the E09 and the tyre is mighty chunky too,I'm also aware that it's a softer compound so I'm not expecting any huge amount of miles on this tyre . For my style of riding the E09 Dakar has always fitted the bill and always will, and this is a different type of tyre , I just wanted to give it a try and see for myself.

Looks like a good meaty tyre, think my rear sirac is getting to the end of it's life but chances of me getting some off roading are slim to none, but be interesting to see how you get on with this

Impressive knobbles! Waiting till it's a bit drier might be a mighty fine idea. Mind you, I wouldn't wait till the weather gets too warm... On tarmac, on a hot day, those knobbles are going to get FUBAR in no time!

That thought had crossed my mind..I definitely didn't buy them to last, just fancied giving them a try. I shall go back to my old favourite E09 for medium longevity, can't imagine what the last one will look like with a stint down the A3!..by the way I love the exan!..
