TT High seat
We'll I thought i'd never be happy until I tried this one. So I said good bye to my TT standard height seat (now riding around Sweden somewhere) and thanks to Crofty I'm now 2 inches taller. We'll first things I noticed (I'm exactly 6ft tall) is I can't put my heels on the ground when seated standing still, although the back settles lower than when you initially get on. The next observation is cornering is a bit stranger as your are not so low and sitting in the bike. Both these I can get used to, no problem. I have only done a few short trips but the big advantage (for me) is that my knees are not that bent (and this is where on a long ride 3 hrs+) fatigue started getting me. I am pretty sure that this together with being able to move forward and backward will make the Tenere much more of a long distance tourer (in my opinion). For short rides the standard seat is fine and perhaps even a bit nicer through loads of twisties, but for me this is the keeper.

The dip in the standard seat looks huge in a side by side photo like the one you've posted Jacque. ...and the new seat looks very comfy! Steve

High seat
That seats looks great but I am on my toes with the standard seat. Your bike will fit you like a glove soon, you just need handlebar risers to balance it up and your sorted.

I've never really considered risers. I still find the handlebar very comfortable both seated and standing. Just loosened the clutch and front brake housings and tilted them down a bit. Also means they just swivel and don't snap when you fall

Nice one Jacques, looks pretty cool.
For us slightly shorter blokes it's not an option, but I do agree with you even at 5'10" my knees are pretty bent when riding. I can just imagine how you would feel. One disadvantage of the standard seat I found is that when you try to sit a bit further back against the ridge, you tend to slide forward, pulling your crotch in and sort of pinching your ..... you know what I mean. With a flatter seat that is reduced or eliminated.

Glad its working out for you Jacques. I could probably have just about about lived with it when I fitted the lowering links but when I put my airhawk on it was too much. The standard one I have now is going to Tony Archer to have the bump removed and flatted so that should help me move around a bit more.

I have seen one with the bump gone and that's the best of both worlds. Show us once its finished. There is one on a bike down here in Hampshire, the owner was lucky enough to buy the bike with it already done. When I enquired about a price it was way more than even the TT seat!
