rev counter sticking
evening peps
can any one help I have an 2009 tenere and the rev counter is playing up it does not sweep around the when 1st Turing ignition on the dial seems to stick on tick over it can read 6000rpm plus various rpms except what it should read engine is ticking over .bike runs OK except for this have check plug on rear seems OK any ides ta mick |

It is likely to be one of two things, both fairly rare but known Tenere issues.
(1) There has been a momentary interruption in the dash's power supply whilst the engine was running (for whatever reason) which has left the tacho's timer circuitry 'confused'. The fix for this is easy: Disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect. http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=25755 (2) Your tacho needle has come a drift from, or loose on its spindle; in which case at some point the needle will fall off! http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=25431 |

well tried disconnect battery but still the same
will keep looking for 2nd hand unit thanks for help mick |

new speedometer fitted 80 quid bargain I thought
just done 13k in 30 mins fitting it . |
