XT660X Anodised Hub
Can anyone let me know if you can buy Talon hubs (or similar) as the one's on my 2009 XT660X are in poor condition.
Many thanks |

You can buy Talon hubs, however they do not make rear ones for the XT. However, you can buy one from KTM 690 and fit it to your wheel. There is a trick, though. The LC4 engine of the 690 is narrower than the XT one and the hub has to be off center with a flange machined to fit the brake disc at the proper place.
The benefit? Nice liking and probably 2kgs weight saving. I believe Pleades has such a set on his.

I was speaking to some bods from talon at the Dirtbike show and he said they were in the process of making some for the tenere (same rear hub?)
So might be worth giving them a call to see if they now stock them |

Stock wheels on the XTX are a great source of weight!!! And I've done a fair amount of homework trying to source a lighter/better tubeless rims option but Jeeze don't go thinking your going to get it done for 2/3 hundred quid.

If your hubs are cosmetically challenged why not simply paint them?...
My silver/rusty spokes are now a nice matt black,as are the hubs c/o Toolstations rust converter. The rims were already black. Been using it for years on various cars. A litre for approx 20. |
