Can't select gears (Bike starts without problems)
Hi Guys,
I searched and couldn't find the same problem that I'm experiencing anywhere on the forum. I have a 2007 XT660X with 67000km's on it, I was the second owner. Friday morning on my way to work, coming onto the highway the bike just died on me, I pulled over and did the usual checks, key maybe turning off or snapped drive chain, could not find the problem. Bike started again with no problem, when selecting first gear to pull off again, it feels like it's going into gear but the bike does not move, neutral light displays when in neutral and goes out when I select a gear, any help or suggestions would be appreciated, I have not had a chance to look at any possible causes yet, will do on the weekend. thanks Glen |

Found the problem
Thanks Simon,
Wasn't the clutch, the main drive sprocket bolt had stripped and the shaft was turning inside the sprocket, the strangest thing I've come across in my 25years plus working on my own bikes. cheers |
