I joined this Forum after reading about it on another website. I was hoping that someone could help me. I live in Curacao therefore access to experts on a Yamaha XT660X is basically non existing.

We purchased a bike about a year ago through an online page (here on Curacao). We drove the bike a whole year without problem untill recently the ignition started to give us problems. Basically first it would not start anymore and suddenly the bike would not even start up as if the battery was dead. We opened up de ignition and surprise surprise apparently it was stolen somewhere in time since it had 4 drill holes and the chip was broken. (Please dont judge and this point the bike is legal and has all required documents, we never were aware of the fact it was broken all papers turned out fine and the bike is legally registered here).

So now we are trying to get this bike to work again but have 0 clues on which parts we require. We found this website ( https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/...-1-353566.aspx) however we do not know which parts we need. Do we need just a new set of keys or do we need a new computer as well?

Please Debs, take a pic of the part which has been tampered and drilled, and show it to us, only then we can tell what's been stolen.

Welcome on board Debs.

Sorry to hear of your trouble but, as the Captain says, we need to know what exactly has been drilled and what the "chip" is that's been removed? Photos are a great help.

Hi Guys,

I have a little bit more information and a picture.

Fact is that the put the battery back after charging, placed it in properly. Smoke came out of the ignition and this part (see picture) was burned through.

What will i need to fix my bike? Can i just get a new IMMOB.UNIT.COMP or will i need to buy the battery as well?
