Modifications and Spains version of the MOT (ITV)
Hi,
Does anybody have any experience with the Spanish version of the MOT ( the ITV) and modified bikes? I have read scare stories about bikes failing this with any slight mods, e.g. different from stock fender or different from stock tyres! I am seriously thinking about moving to Spain and would like to take my 660z with me. I would also like to modify more of my bike, (with TUV approved parts), such as USD forks. For that matter, how far can you go in the UK before you have to have your bike inspected and approved?? I would be very interested to hear from anybody who has been through the Spanish ITV with a modified bike.. I don't want to have to buy a KTM just to get the suspension I would like! Thanks!

Thanks for that Pepsi!
I thought you might have something to say on the matter when I made my post.. I suspect that you said that at least a little tongue in cheek! I could consider moving to Portugal, but know very little about the it..last time I looked everybody there seemed to be moving to Brazil, where a lot of my industry offshored to. Perhaps I need to do more homework, all I know is I need to leave UK and go somewhere warmer and happier. I have worked in Italy before, and much as I love it, it seems to be falling apart. Searching the expat forums this evening has revealed a little more..It seems that your initial registration requires a technical report from an engineer, with it a technical log being created for the bike. Any modifications require further engineering inspections with amendments made to the technical report. Sounds simple, I am sure in practice it is not!
