LED Indicator Relay
Hi all,
Fitted a OTR tail tidy to my XTX, it seems that the indicator relay has stopped working and keeps blowing the 10amp fuse used to control it as it keeps staying on when engaging the indicators. Ive put a 20amp fuse in for the time being. Ive looked on google and searched on a new LED indicator relay but I cant find any that are the same as mine. I didn't install the indicators or relays so I don't know where it is. Here are some pictures for reference. Any help would be amazing, Cheers guy Liam

Hi Steve,
From looking and pictures and diagrams on the internet this relay isn't the same as OTR ones. Where does the relay plug in that you ordered from OTR? Liam

By the look of it, the original connector has been chopped out of the loom. There should be a brown and a brown/white wire going to the indicator relay. I suspect you might find these original wires behind the insulation tape?
The stock relay position is circled. It hooks into the empty rubber slot you can see. The LED replacement for the OE relay can be found here on the OTR site. However, you'll have to source and OE connector, or make something up to get it to fit. (You can also find these relays on ebay for slightly less - like this.) Here's an image of an ebay LED relay connected up to the standard connector (although the relay isn't hooked on the slot as the OE one would be)... |
