High pitched whine from fuel tank area

Hiya forum, I've just noticed that there is a high pitched whine coming from my fuel tank while the bike is running. It sounds like the fuel pump priming when you turn on the ignition but it is continuous. Could this be a sign that my fuel pump is knackered and if so s there a way of cleaning/servicing it? I ran the tank quite low before I refilled it yesterday and could possibly have some gunk in the pump from the bottom I'm not sure.
Thanks for any help!

Certainly sounds like it.

The actual pump can be replaced quite cheaply by opening the plastic housing.

This issue came up recently. Have a read of this thread.

There's one on ebay at the moment, which would appear to be a genuine one too. Starting price 20.

Sorry. They're not the same. The fuel level pickup Is different. So you would get an error code

But if you're buying it just to scavenge the pump from it all good

I'm sorry. I was talking about a different item. Seen the pump alone you were talking about. I was going to bid. But I'll not touch it for you to get you a better price

That's great news and yes I did near have a heart attack at the 380+vat price tag on a whole new assembly! Thanks a lot you've just saved me a whole load of money woohoo! (throws wads of notes in the air!)
Do you think I should replace it straight away or perhaps wait and see if it stops squealing as it only just started doing it?

We posted at the same time!

Take a look at my previous post - there's one on ebay which may be a potential bargain.

If it was me, I'd get one in stock and wait and see. Perhaps fit it when you have time?
