Hi,
Just been looking around for new mods to add to the XTX I've bought. Ive looked at off the road and rizoma so far. Im looking for new indicators, mirrors, tail tidy, power commander, 02 optimizer, air filter and exhaust. Any suggestions for places or brands to buy? Cheers, Liam. ![]()

For indicators and mirrors ebay is probably a good place to start looking. A word of warning though, it isn't always best to buy cheap when it comes to LED indicators; the keenly priced Chinese ones let in water.
I'd suggest having a search of the forum for tail tidy ideas/options is a decent starting point. Here's a couple of links to get you going: http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=20723 http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=181161&postcount=5 My personal favourite shed engineered "Pooratech" tail tidy... http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=19100 The cheapest place for Power Commanders (because of the strong pound/weak euro) is OTR at the moment. You get an O2 Optimizer in the kit. DNA air filters are generally accepted as the best for road use on the XT and the best/cheapest place to get them is BR Special Tuning (although they can occasionally be picked up slightly cheaper on ebay). There's so much choice in the exhaust department really it all depends on your budget, what you like the look of and what you want in terms of weight saving, layout etc. The world's your oyster! You've got things to consider like whether to go 2-2 or 2-1, long or stubby, loud or quiet. At the cheap end, buying MTC cans through the forum is one option. At the top end there are the premium brands like Akrapovic and lying somewhere in between are brands like Exan. Have a search on the forum, or search in Google images and see what floats your boat... |

Hello there, I am back on the scene again with another 660x, I sold the last one in 2010 and wish I hadn't so starting all over again. Once I pick up the bike the weekend I will be ordering the fuel and o2 mod from Kev. You 100% need to read up and understand why he designed these, They really are a must.
My bike is totally standard, I want to raise the back end again and then get a tailtidy but seem to be struggling to find one at the moment. There was a guy on here before called Worry brother, he made and sold me one but I think he has moved on. I am going to get yamaha handguards, seem a bit steep at 95 quid but my last bike had them so want them again. And then the cans!!, had arrows last time but will see. All will be done by the summer lol, got to run it in 1st as only has 142 miles on it so far..... Happy hunting, Dave. If anyone can point me in the direction of a tailtidy then please do... Cheers |

I like the idea of the small LED tail light with the tail tidy, small LED indicators looks the business as well. Probably go for the 2-1 pipe for weight saving, not sure about the make though.
Thanks for your input Pleiades!

I have one of the last tail tidies that WB made but no big deal just go into ebay and put xt660x tail tidy.
I hunted for a secondhand 2into1 for the best part of 12 months fitted and looked great but Jeeze it absolutely killed the motor,if you have an R and want to go off-road then it's the way to go,but if your looking for a quick revving motor with max HP then you'll need a 2 into 2 PC/1/2 filter snorkel out,I was never so glad to go back to twin Akra's in fact it took less than an hour!! Unless the bike is too low why raise the rear? Drop the front. You can do something with the front brake with a change of disc and radial front master cylinder but costs. How the hell anyone rides with stock bars I've no idea. Good indicators? That'll be Kellerman or is that Kellermen !!but with twin Akra's there's no room, and I had to go for some oddball Chinese offering. |
