Hello from nothern ireland

Hello folks,I'm new here and new to xt660 ownership.
I've been around bikes most of my life from motocross in my early years to ever bigger road bikes over the last 15 years, ranging from Honda monkeybikes to hyper sports bikes. Recent years have steered me to transalp,varaderos,xt600 and currently a n r1200gs, but the xt660x has arrived to try.

I did test ride a 2005 xtx about 8 years back and upon reflection I now think I expected to much from its sub 50bhp engine as I was used to 100+bhp wagons, but time and my mentally to riding has changed towards more comfortable rides.
I'm just waiting on this xt's seat arriving back from the upholstery shop sonic can enjoy this new purchase.
Can someone confirm that although this bike is registered 2007 it's a 2006 model. Is this correct and what are the differences?
Cheers folks

Your bike is a 2006 or earlier model. From 2007 onwards the XTX had a cast swingarm, O2 sensor in the LH exhaust header and shallower tank sides/radiator scoops and a few other minor cosmetic differences.

Thanks for helping to clarify that.
Luckily it's had some mods done. Kev fuel helper,DNA filter and air box modified.
I thinking about a rear rack for a top box and some frames to protect the exhausts from some throw over panniers.

Could the later cast swingarm be retro fitted easily to an early bike?
