Avon every time...the distancing has been replaced by the trail rider. I have these and they're faultless on road. Can't speak for proper off road cus I don't.

I will be putting Mitas e07 tyres on mine when I get it. I run them on the ktm and have done on the honda Africa Twin. They are very good.

Tyres are a funny thing, one mans pleasure is another mans nightmare.

Personally, for the Tenere, by far THE most effective tyres wet or dry, snow or rain, hot or cold, road or trail are the TKC80's from Continental. The downside is these are expensive and don't last very long.

Early last year Continental released the TKC70's, a sort of 70/30 road/trail tyre. I fitted a set in September and they are faultless showing no sings of wear after 1000miles of Scottish road trip (with luggage). These are also M&S marked for winter use so the rubber doesn't stiffen up in the cold (reducing grip). Even in out Lake District weather they are very very good.
