Klim or Rukka

Ouch expensive, but is it worth it and which one? I'm sick of not staying dry for ever and ever.

Hey Jaques. I have a set of Klim gear and it has been totally waterproof for the last 50K miles since I got it in '08. The pants have just started to leak a bit in very heavy rain at the crotch but I'm not grumbling.
The jacket is still 100% waterproof and I ride in some terrible weather.
Get Klim or get wet!
I will get another pair of pants as soon as I have time, but the ones I have are OK for slight rain at the moment and I just put some overpants on for the time being. I cannot be bothered with all this messing with over gear, stopping to suit up and the associated condensation.
I have even spoken to Dave at Adventure-Spec and he asked me to get the pants back to him and they would send them back. But to be quite honest I've had my time with the gear and it has never let me down, until now.
That's my opinion.

Steve

+1 for Klim gear, simply superb. Most of their trousers/jackets are designed to be used off road so a looser fit compared to the more road orientated Rukka.
If I could I'd have Rukka kit for the road and British winter and Klim gear for overland trips....both great!

+1 for Klim.

I have Overland jacket and trousers. Goretex is excellent and I layer up if required for the cold. In the heat there are vents front and back in both jacket and trousers so that a cooling airflow is supplied to keep body temp down.

Used on a 10k mile trip to Mongolia and performed faultlessly.

Not so impressed with the D3O armour however as it split. Has been replaced under warranty but it is now my choice to use with Forcefield armour.

I was on the verge of spending a small fortune on Rukka, then I saw some Linstrand Halvarssons stuff - and I saved big time.

Appreciate the OP is a question of two choices, however, the Halvarssons is half the price of Rukka, yet Rukka is only (at best) 10% better.

I use my gear for Blood Runs, and it's used 12 months of the year in all the weather the Lakes can throw at you (we all know about the rain up here!). It's never leaked, not even down the collar, nor have I ever been cold thanks to the Outlast linings.

Your choice, but it won't harm you to take a look.
