Got one at last

Well finally got me an xt660x. Rode her home a good 100 miles after after picking her up comfy as hell and a big grin all the way home. Surprised how she could pick up and overtake when doing lose to mid80's

One thing I found and not sure if it's my riding style is when cornering she seems to whallow and want to stand up.

Possibly my riding style. I'm not counter steering but pressing down on the bars. Maybe I need to shift my weight over more will try on the way to work

What a great bike though. Can't wait for the commute this morning

and to

Is the bike used or brand new? And is this your first experience with motards? What tyres are they the Pirelli originals, or Michelin Pilot?

It's strange because usually these bikes (motards) once the tyres are well up to temperature they love low corner leaning, and it's all down to rider confidence to let them follow the road, however the reason why I've asked you if they are Pirelli because when these Pirelli are used or part worn and have not been leaned for the major part fo their life they go flat in the middle and when you do attempt to lean over the flat edge that is when you get that feeling that the bike wants to get back upright.

Make sure to get the no.1 tyre favoured by this forum on your next change, i.e. Avon Distanzia, they are known to stick to the tarmac like **** on a blanket

They don't look squared off though. Could be my riding style then. She's a 2010 captain from a private seller. I'm a bit green on these things but he seemed genuine enough and full service history. Just over 7000miles on the clock

Yeah the tyre look pretty mint, though as you can see the previous owner has not been an inch from the edge, so now its up to you to keep it round by edging it at every chance you get, I have seen some of these going almost rectangular.

enjoy!

Cheers captain appreciate the advice. How does the engine sound. Is it normal or has some paranoia set in with me.
