heated gloves anyone?
oNCE THE TEMPERATURE goes south of 5deg, my fingers complain. The go numb and it becomes difficult to opperate the brake lever and generally very uncomfortable.
I have tried few gloves but they can't beat the cold! I have also tried hand guard but without success. I bought some handlebar muffs with are excellent at keeping my hands warm and dry allowing me to wear summer gloves inside but... It is very clumsy and restrict movements specially in traffic. I was wondering if anyone has good experience or opinion of heated gloves so that I can start saving for next winter? |

Hi bonjo, I get that numb with cold feeling too...it's not great for your throttle /clutch co ordination either!. For the past 4yrs I have been using Keis heated gloves, running from a neat little rechargeable power pack I keep in my pocket. Brilliant! .A charge lasts about 8hrs. , and you can hard wire them to a connector from your bike battery. My XR650R didn't have such mod cons as a battery! . The Tenere is the height of luxury to me! Steve

thanks guys,
I was thinking of the ones with portable batteries as wiring to the battery in not an option for me (so that I can wear them on any bike) Gerbing are well established in this field so I will have a close look at them. gscp your keis battery sits in your pocket as opposed inside the glove cuffs? This sounds interesting. My big prob with cold and numb finger is operating the brake lever which becomes very slow |

I went for a 1000km (600 mile) ride this past weekend & in places it was 1.5C to 4C for over 200kms & my Gerbing T5 heated gloves kept my hands warm, not even a sign of cool air around my hands, they are on their 3rd winter with life time warranty on the heaters in the gloves they are worth the money.

My T5's are hard wired, I would also not recommend the battery heated gloves.

this is interesting point guys.
I have a battery charger connection on the bikes (which are fused). Got any idea what the current draw is? |
