Talking Hi Sam here from Cornwall (I want to ride)

Hi
I've just traded my road bike in for an XTR, I almost bought a Gs 650 but boy am I glad I didn't. My bike is a 2007 with the Kev mod for fuel, heated grips, large pan and touring screen, although I like to put the small screen on when playing so I can see over the front.

Does anyone live local to me +- 30miles and know a couple of green lane routes, if yes could I tag along. I'm desperately trying to find somewhere I can get the bike dirty, at the moment I'm taking every little path I can find but I either end up stuck in deep mud swearing or down a path that could land an aeroplane. I don't seem to be finding the perfect ride and its better getting stuck with someone to laugh at you.

Also has anyone got any advice on tyres Im looking for a set that gives great grip in the mud but wont fight me on the road.

It seems most agree on Continental KTC80s, although I use Mefo's. Look under tyres and you will see a lot about the best dual purpose tyres. Good luck and enjoy those trails.

Hi Sam and welcome to the forum.
I'd reccommend continental TKC80's, a good road/dirt comprimise. I've used them on a honda dominater and a KTM 640 adv. They're quite grippy on road in the dry and work well on gravel and hardpack.
