Bike dead ???
Only had the bike a few days, done 200+ miles on it already, went out to it this morning, turned the key....nothing, ziltch, yada, zero, nowt.
It has heated grips but they are wired to the ignition so doubt it's them, any other ideas ?? |

If you've got absolutely nothing turning the key, no lights on the dash or anything, then there is no power. Check the battery terminals, battery voltage and main fuse for starters...
If the battery is flat - you need to find the cause of the drain. If the fuse has gone - there's a short somewhere and you'll need to find it. Have you got a multimeter handy? |

Unfortunately I don't and tbh, wouldn't know how to use one.

It's probably worth investing in one? A cheap Chinese one will do the job for checking voltage and resistance and they can be had for for little more than a fiver.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC1 .A0.H0.Xmultimeter.TRS0&_nkw=multimeter&_sacat=0 Or get one from Halfrauds, not as cheap, but still not expensive and you'll get plenty of use out of it owning an XT! They're dead easy to use and most come with instructions to perform basic tests. For now though, you should be able to check the fuse(s) visually and how secure the battery terminals are. If you can get hold of a 12V bulb and a couple of wires you can connect it across the battery terminals and see if there's any life there at all. The main 30A fuse to focus on look something like this... (The right hand one is a spare which you can use to swap.) Just out of interest, a couple of questions: How long had it been (before you went to it this morning) since it last ran? Is there anything fitted that could be draining the battery? Sat Nav, power leads, phone chargers, even a usb outlet without anything plugged in draws current.
