XT660 gripes
I feel a bit stupid complaining about a bike so perfect but here goes. My first gripe was not having self canceling indicators. My 1977 yamaha xs had those. It's a pain to have to manually cancel. The horn switch is very easily bumped by my left thumb. Thankfully the horn is so pathetic and soft that it is difficult for others to track I still get moisture in my speedo. Only in extreme weather and corrects itself soon but still annoying
The seat is too soft in my opinion but this is an easy fix Now the list of what I like is much much longer and puts my gripes in the shade. But still we all dream of perfection. No wonder we all modify our bikes often quite unnecessary. But it makes as happy |

My main gripe was the lack of storage space, now solved with a 2 into 1 and tool tube.

On my XTR it was the low pipes & bad very bad suspension..
A Metal Mule pipe / USD forks / Ohlins shock sorted it..

My wish list for my xtz would def be better suspension but you can live with it at push. How can I trim some more weight off it. Wonder how much loosing one disc up front will save.

Not a lot. Have you felt how heavy the hub is? It weighs a ton - by far the heaviest component part of the front wheel. Even if you take into account the missing caliper.

Ouch, and thats unsprung weight. I suppose that means its unbreakable, which is good. Just spend more time in the gym is the other option.
