XTZ-Cannot acces DIAG-mode

Anyone familiair with this issue? I wanted to do a few minor checks on my 2008 Ten but whatever i do, i cannot access DIAG-mode.

Engine Run is off, keyswitch turned off. Keeping both buttons pressed, turning ignition keyswitch on and holding both Select and Reset for at least 8 seconds only results in the hour-setting of the clock running. Nothing else and happens every time again.

I wonder, does this bike have the self-diagnose or not? It's not a big deal, but i have the impression my TPS is a tick off, as it sometimes shuts down at idle, i.e. at traffic-lights.

There's no diagnostic function built into the dash of the Z. You need to buy (or borrow) a Yamaha diagnostic tool. They are about 90 euro.

OK, thanks. I already suspected that but was not sure. On to a diagnostic tool it is then!

FYI - I actually bought mine from the Netherlands - CMS in Lelystad. If it's nearby you could save yourself the postage costs?

They were, and still are, the cheapest place to get them from at 88 euro (63.50 for those in the UK). A tool worth investing in IMHO - I've used it a lot more than I thought I would have done.

OTR also do them, but for 100 euro plus delivery.

Interestingly, most (not all) Yamaha dealers won't sell/order you one... and if they do it'll cost you dearly!
