XTZ-Cannot acces DIAG-mode
Anyone familiair with this issue? I wanted to do a few minor checks on my 2008 Ten but whatever i do, i cannot access DIAG-mode.
Engine Run is off, keyswitch turned off. Keeping both buttons pressed, turning ignition keyswitch on and holding both Select and Reset for at least 8 seconds only results in the hour-setting of the clock running. Nothing else and happens every time again. I wonder, does this bike have the self-diagnose or not? It's not a big deal, but i have the impression my TPS is a tick off, as it sometimes shuts down at idle, i.e. at traffic-lights. |

There's no diagnostic function built into the dash of the Z. You need to buy (or borrow) a Yamaha diagnostic tool. They are about 90 euro.

OK, thanks. I already suspected that but was not sure. On to a diagnostic tool it is then!

FYI - I actually bought mine from the Netherlands - CMS in Lelystad. If it's nearby you could save yourself the postage costs?
http://www.cmsnl.com/products/fi-disgnostic-tool_9089003182/#.VPy7JPmsWSp They were, and still are, the cheapest place to get them from at 88 euro (63.50 for those in the UK). A tool worth investing in IMHO - I've used it a lot more than I thought I would have done. OTR also do them, but for 100 euro plus delivery. http://www.off-the-road.de/en/XT-660Z/Electrical-system-Lighting/Diag-modul-XT-660Z.html Interestingly, most (not all) Yamaha dealers won't sell/order you one... and if they do it'll cost you dearly! |
