Good day on the Tenere
Despite wind and driving rain I couldn't resist a ride around West Sussex today on the Ten. It also gave me a chance to gauge the benefit of my cut down screen and the removal of the bar end weights. It felt a bit strange taking a hacksaw to the screen of my lovely new bike!!. It has worked though, the buffeting is nearly gone and it's a much more relaxed ride. As well as removing the weights I fitted some Grip Puppies foam over grips, no vibes at all and a nicely cushioned hand grip. Also fitted some bar risers. I stopped a few times to change the angle of the bars. Relatively small mods but they all help to make the bike how I want it. I also put the rear shock up to setting 6 and the forks to halfway on the adjuster. This and 28psi front and rear really improved things, although my love/hate relationship with the Tourance continues! I sheltered under a tree with flask and sarnies and thought how much I'm loving this bike.....five hours in the rain and I'm still smiling! Steve

Good to see you're enjoying yout Ten Steve, they're great to ride in the wet!!
If you're having problems with the buffetting try the mod that blocks the flow of air that is thrown up as it passes through the gap around the yokes. The flow of air hits the front of the tank and is blasted up hitting the riders helmet; can be a problem especially if you ride with a peaked lid. |

If you look in the Mods section for XT660Z, enter a search for "turbulance stopper" and you should find it.
I made one from Lexan polycarbonate, cut it to size and attached and it worked for me |
