Fuel limits?

Hi All.

Ok, I have been doing about 160 miles and then I hit the last bar on the fuel gauge. I have been finding a petrol station asap but then being surprise I am putting in quite a bit less fuel than the tank can hold. On here I see the last bar holds approx 6 litres so that would explain my situation.

My question is how do you know when you are getting REALLY empty? Does the last fuel block start flashing? Some other indication?

Tell me as I I really do not want to run out......

You should get about 400 kms before reserve kicks in if you're riding "fairly" sedately. Once you've used all the fuel in the last bar, it will start flashing. That is when reserve kicks in. From there you will geta good 100k's plus of steady riding before you run out. I often wait til about 80's into reserve before fuelling and still have a couple of litres left.

Just because I wanted to know from a brimming tank (filler mod done) I ran out of petrol at 305 miles.
I would say you need to think about juice at 250 and that's playing really safe.
