I did see that many of the dates in May clash with meets from other forums, The People Popular Front have one on the first weekend after the Bank Holiday, which is the weekend we always use. I don't think that running two meets at the same time is fair on those who might want to go to both.

Also, isn't the Lakes getting a bit stale for people? I live here, and I make no secret that it IS the best place in the world to be, to ride, to live and to return home to. But others may think differently, and we should always respect the wants and wishes of others.

Here's my challenge to you all :

Find a place to hold a "Lakes VII - on tour" meet, organise a site and set a date.

On a personal note, I have a new job and it's demanding lots of time, coupled with will to get back out on the road, properly on the road (crossing water and speaking differently), I need to explore new places, meet new people and this is going to take it's toll on my available leave. Where? Dunno yet it's a work in progress.

In the words of Damien Blade - Ride hard or stay home, oh and lose the watches

Well has anyone any suggestions?

Anybody fancy setting a new location for a meet?

To be honest I think we really have two plans that would work for most people. 1 is the Lake District, and 1 is the Peak District. They both are generally central for most, have a mixed bag of good roads, scenery, off roading, plenty/good camping. Also they are good for a weekend/long weekend for most people. Ireland, Wales and Scotland are mostly a bit too far for most.

I'm up to changes but think the setup you and others have created at the lakes make a brilliant setup for people who've been before and also newbies. I'm sure between a few of us we could help out to make it work again.
