Mitas any good?

As you can see from my long term report i'm currently running Maxxis C6006's at the mo, but i'm surprised how quick they seem to wear, i'm considering giving Mitas a go once i've killed the Maxxis.

The tyres i'm looking at are the C02 the E09 and E10, also which front compliments these? i'm attracted by the price and hopefully they will last a little longer in terms of mileage.

I'll freely admit the bulk of my riding is commuting, but i want something that can get me through snow, and when i do go off road it's fairly packed dirt/sand with boggy bits, gravel track, and woodland.

I have been using Mitas tyres for around 5+ years now on few different bikes. First time was moving from Heidenau K60 to E07s on my Transalp - found they were the best tyres I had on the bike, long lasting, predictable, OK in wet and good enough along tracks round here in Kerry. Then I had a couple of sets of E08s on my 1150GS they're very like the Tournces but better! And cheaper... Back to E07s on the XTZ now - just changed them today and that's another plus is they are not too bad to change (unlike the Karoo that came off). You may find E07s will do for your needs the E09 and E10 are more aggressive and may not be so great for commuting with vibration and noise? Don't know for sure as I haven't used them though.
Worth a go anyway - they're reasonably cheap and you may be delighted with them!

I'm on my third set of Mitas E07's....I get great wear from them as I ride hard...they're very good on wet tarmac. They last really well on stone hard pack and resist cuts and tears. The K60's I've seen on the same routes and on the same terrain get cut to bits. Would not buy based on my observations.

I'll buy another pair of E07's again next.

I think I got 16k kms on my last pair from memory.

Wow what a great looking spot. I wanna come and play :-)

I really like my tourances on the tarmac but they really don't like any kind of dirt, looking forward to hearing how you get on with the Mitas Simon.

well I've just ordered myself a set of E07's so once I've killed off the maxxis I will also do a review on them to keep everyone informed.

I have an E07 in the shed but my TKC80 just refuses to give up that last mm of wear!! Read very good reports and cheap in comparison.
Matt.
