Stainless bolts
I took the plunge and bought some stainless bolts in M6 and M8 from screwfix. cost around 11 quid for 150. I have replaced the bolts on the indicators, and all the protective plastic pods. I will report back on how hardy they actually are, but on first impressions they are not made of cheese like the originals.

I recommend these people:

screwfix codes
M6x16 socket button code 28496
Socket cap M6x20 code 19472 M6x20 socket button code 25864 I will be measuring and replacing some more as time passes and adding the codes as I do. I used a Screwfix set of stainless bolts when I fitted crash bars to a former bike. They were pristine when I sold it 3 years later so it must be pretty good metal. And they are a 5 min ride away which helps. |

caveat
The domed heads are not as wide as the originals, but I like the look, they are backed up by washers, and not load bearing.

Are the Screwfix A2 or A4 grade? The bolts should be marked.
This is quite interesting: http://www.graphskill.com/2011/03/21...-to-fasteners/
