Unhappy frame rusty-warranty hope?

Hi Chaps,

Was cleaning bike at weekend and to my horror/dismay I see rust on both sides of the frame near the pillion rests ,but not the bracket the actual frame tubes.
I know and expected some furry fasteners and spokes on this bike but the frame on a 2013 bike, that's poor and quite serious really.
Do you think there is a chance they would replace the frame I don't want it "touched up" it will only return and anyway could do that myself better than them anyway.

Cheers Spyke

nah they wont do anyhting . and personally i dont think i would want all them parts and connectors and pipes to be taken apart and put back together it has a lot of risk involved . i would just touch it up myself tbh. everyplayed with joint could be an issue. so i frame replacement could be lots and lots more hassle then its worth

Those that don't ask, don't get.

You'll never know unless you ask; so give it a try, if that's what you want. What have you got to lose? Worst case scenario is you'll end up having to touch it up, and it sounds like you're already considering that as an option anyway.

Had same problem with rust on frame - they did it under warranty but they didnt change the frame they just touched it blah, blah, blah....its not worth the hassle (unless you will have more luck and they give you a new frame - doubt it).

They also did for me: spokes, front and rear, engine cover, forks covers, side stand (but again didnt change but painted - i didnt notice this when i picked up the bike).

Good luck anyway
