XT660Z Dead!!
Hi Guys. About 1 month ago in Poland, as a result of continous Reg/Rect problems
my bike died. I had stopped for fuel as the orange engine light had been flashing as it had been doing for the previous week through Russia/Latvia/Lithuania and finally Poland. After filling with fuel, there wasnt enough juice in the battery to fire up the bike. I got someone to give me a jumpstart, but minute battery cables were removed, bike would hesitate and cutout. Got a replacement battery and fitted. Bike now happily turning over but no spark. Took it to a shop who had it for 2 days but could not identify the problem. Had to fly back from Poland as I had obligations here. Since then I got a yamaha dealer to pick up my deserted bike, and they now have it in their shop for a few weeks. They think it might be ECU and are waiting to get an ECU to try on it. But bottomline bike is still a non-starter. I am flying back to Poland this week so hopefully shop will have it fixed. Question is.... how likely is it to have an ECU failure? I've never heard of that happening? Also anyone got any ideas as to other possible causes for no spark? Immobilizer led doesn't shine anymore either.... It seems bike is immobilized. |
