Fried clutch at only 780km

Today I lost all clutch on my new tenere. When I looked at the clutch cable it had no free play and I slacked off the cable from the gearbox end and the lever end it moved about 2cm on the clutch arm on the box. I now have a little clutch but it's slipping under load

It must have been set incorrectly and I have been riding around with slight clutch on without noticing and it's finally given way. I haven't notice any slipping only when it went today. I really hoping it's just a matter of a new clutch and nothing else has gone wrong.

Hoping yamaha will fix under warranty but I'm not holding my breath as it's classed as a consumable aaaahhhhhhh not a happy camper bike has only 780km so I'm getting the 1k service while it's in the shop

Well, 780km is nothing, it should (morally) be considered as something covered by warranty.
Hell, this Tn has been giving some serious headaches to a lot of folks lately.

Yea if yamaha don't do it under warranty I think I will be getting a clutch tool and clutch kit and having a crack at doing it myself.

Don't they recommend fully synth oil?

The right type of oil for this bike is SAE 10W-40.

Yeah, do it yourself.

Yamaha charged me 330quid when I burned mine.....heh it with 1k on the clock but purely my fault when I went some serious off road...
