Lakes VI - Green Lanes around the Lakes
For those that would like to organise their own routes, these two websites may help:
Green Lanes in Cumbria --> http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-tran...ils_routes.asp Green Lanes in Northumberland --> http://map.northumberland.gov.uk/prow/ Most Lakeland lanes will be OK on dual sport tyres, if it has been wet then you'll need to take extra care. The lanes around Alston are generally more peat/muddy so TCK-type rubber is better, but it can be hard going at times.

Hi mate, sorry to bother you. I'm new to the site n I've been looking over it over the past year n finally logged in as a user. Hoping to buy my Tenere new year and try the trials in the lake district as i live in Grasmere. I've done a few lanes on my old Xl600 lm n loved it but she's an old girl now n parts are scarce. Its been difficult to find anyone to communicate with to get out and about n i was hoping you knew if there's anyone in the area I could get in touch with so i can make some ground. My apologies if I'm on the wrong thread for this but navigating it on the worlds crappest phone because my laptop is down just now. Hope to talk to you and other in the area and go from there if you could help. All the best mate. Kind regards jason
