Hyperpro springs issue
Hi guys,
The other day I did put new HP progressive springs on my XTR. However during the test ride at speed above 120 km/h I experience weaving of front (steering bar). After I adjusted the rear spring preload to max the problem seems to have improved a bit but still there. And I am not a heavy bloke wright 80 kg plus never had this problem before. My first thought was to buy rear hyperpro spring and change it, which I will but still wandering. Any ideas? Thanks.

Not totally sure, but as far as I recall, I think they recommend raising the forks through the yokes by 5mm when fitting them. Which would achieve the same effect on the geometry as raising the rear with increased preload, but without the side effect of loosing sag/comfort/traction at the rear. If you're a heavy bloke, then you may well be riding too low at the back (relative to the front) now you've got better/newer/stiffer springs fitted up front?

Check the "model specific" sticker outer cover of the Hyperpro instruction booklet and it will tell you how much you need to raise the forks through the yokes.
I have just done front springs on my Tenere and had to raise them 10mm through the yokes. Still waiting on my rear spring turning up (bike in bits) so not tried the handling yet. Time will tell.....

Thanks, Sandman.
Looks like we have the same problem - "bike in bits" Would have been a perfect world otherwise.
