Touratech seat

Has anyone experience of Touratech seats? Their 400 and I wondered if their worth the money over a standard seat?

Yes and no!

I bought one, and it is bloody good indeed. I really don't think they're worth 400 though!

However, not to worry, you can get them from Hornig in Germany; they sell all the TT stuff and will ship to the UK at German TT shop prices (unlike TT Germany who will not send parts to the UK, so you have to buy from the UK shop at massively inflated prices).

I got mine for a still expensive 300 (depends on exchange rate a bit) - brand new, TT box and instructions, exactly as you'd buy from the uk for 400. Buying this way also works out cheaper than the Kahedo seat (same as the TT seat except the branding) from OTR too, and you get to keep your old seat.

FYI the high seat is not, as they say, 4cm higher than the standard seat; it's 4cm higher than their low seat. High is +2cm and low is -2cm.

I have the high option and I altered it as I found that the seat made me sit further forward than I wanted.
I have just done 830miles in three days and don't think I could have done on standard seat

Cheers for the replies gents, there's one on fleabay now and it's not far from me but to be honest if the price goes any higher it would be worthwhile ordering a new one.

Well the seat I was watching went for 331.99....!
May as well bought a new one for that price!

Thanks for the link though- prices on that site are miles better than the uk prices.

That..

Is just plain silly. Who would pay that kind of money for a 2nd hand seat. I agree, if you were going to pay it, add the other 68 and have a new one.

Or get your own re-modeled (incidentally, there is a place in Carlisle does it, but not sure if they are any good => http://www.b-ohara-upholstery.co.uk/...?info_id=71008)

Your not wrong! I had a max bid of 245 from day one on that seat. Just mad. At least I know when to stop. You can get a brand new one for just a little more. Good for the seller though!

Scott.

Seats and stuff

I've been watching a few Kreiga bags on e bay and the prices are stupid.
Why would you buy a secondhand bag for 80. + 10 postage when a new one is 95..........!

The TT seat is the only one available for the Tenere...i know...i searched for ages for something.

I've now done 10k on mine and it's as hard as the day i bought it. great for off road work but no good for doing many miles. It has just not bedded in at all in any way.

Not impressed as their tag line is that i will be to ride until my tank runs dry!!!!

Mike
