How Do from Stoke

How do all,
just bought myself an 09 model 21,000 mile beige/sand/brown depending upon your mood...been riding it a week now and have some questions, please point me in the right direction for answers.
1. Its got standard exhaust but pops and crackles on the overrun, is this normal?
2. The steering is giving me an odd sensation, cruising at normal speeds no problems, when braking for a slow turn( i.e at junctions) for a slight instance the steering doesn't feel if it will move, then feels like the bike wants to fall in the corner. Can't see a noticeable notch in the steering, could this just be tyre pressure or is it just a characteristic of the bike. Head bearing instantly spring to mind.
FYI bought the bike from Suttons motorcycles in Birmingham, they said they do a MOT type test/check on all bikes sold.
Many Thanks

1. Its got standard exhaust but pops and crackles on the overrun, is this normal? Yes they do pop back on over run with the standard pipe, this is cause by the AIS system injecting fresh air directly into the exhaust system after the exhaust valve.
Check tyre pressures, lift the front off the ground & turn the bars it should move freely from side to side, does sound like steering head bearing to me.
FYI bought the bike from Suttons motorcycles in Birmingham, they said they do a MOT type test/check on all bikes sold. Means nothing if you are unable to check the steering head bearings take the bike back to them to be rechecked.

Many Thanks

Welcome on board.

What tyres have you got fitted? Certain brands exhibit exactly the symptoms you describe on the Ten, especially if you're not used to them...

sounds exactly like head bearings to me same as my x did I was away with it at the time and borrowed a barn and hoisted the bike off the yoke using the roof truces, I cleaned the bearings out with petrol and then re packed them with grease .......job sorted was as good as new
