Been a few busy days in the garage

While my wheels are away being re laced in stainless spokes I thought I would give it a bit of a strip and a clean, glad I did, I've never seen such poor quality plating, quite shocking realy on a 7k bike in this day and age, no excuses Yamaha, spent the week painting bits and replacing bolts with stainless, stripped and greased all the calipers, painted the backing plates on the rear pads and all three brake discs where they were starting to corrode where the pads don't run, stripped rear mudguard/light unit, cleaned and rebuilt with stainless fittings, had the standard exhaust de-catted and baffles drilled out, blocked off the ais with a marble. Also got DNA stage 1-2 to fit but I'm going to wit to fit them until my kev fuel mod and O2 thing turn up so I can fit them separately and feel the difference.
All this on a bike that has not even had its 1st service yet! 580 miles

It is a shame, and no excuse really. For the extra few quid they could have fitted decent spokes from the factory too

Hey Steve, you're only up the road from me.

Where are you getting your spokes done and how much?

BTW: My spokes don't rust at all and my bike is almost 6 years old and has never seen a garage.

I use Anglia fasteners in Northampton, got 50 15mm m6 cap heads and 30 35mm m6 cap heads for 5, so for that price I change them! Lol
Looking at the mods you have done to yours Steve, mine will be the same!
