Urgent parts required
When fitting my LED headlight bulbs, I drilled out the round black plastic socket into which the high beam Bulb plugs into.
Now I have my MOT equivalent coming up very soon and the current LED high beam bulb I have inserted is not going to pass the test. So I desperately need that plastic round socket for the high beam bulb urgently. |

For a quick temporary fix, just to get you going, just crimp a 6.3mm female blade connector onto the end of each wire to connect up the bulb.
H7 bulb connectors are dirt cheap and readily available on ebay. Here is an example from the UK, but I'm sure the Japanese ebay will have plenty on offer. |

The Japanese are strict with the high beams and not so with the low beam. I failed the last one two years ago on the high beam test because of the angle and reach. And know this led has no chance.
Without that part I'm for some reason unable to adjust the angle or to get the bulb to hold true in the headlight |

I see which bit you mean now.
Unfortunately the part you have butchered to get the LED bulb to fit is a unique part of the headlamp/sidelight loom and not available separately. A new loom is about 40 in the UK, which is realistically the only way to go, unless you can somehow use spade connectors and make something out of a plastic washer to wedge the bulb in place? I take it that the LED headlight idea wasn't a roaring success then? |

AJ Sutton will ship worldwide from the UK.

Yep that's the one.
So I thought go to a dealer or bike shop. Which is no easy task and an adventure in itself and order a new loom. No luck. It's a body part so no way of getting it in jp. Engine parts okay as other bikes that share the same engine are available here. So to put it mildly the LEDs were not a successful project. Run head in first and regret it later is one my favourite mottoes (as I'm sitting next to the misses). So unless I can find an online dealer who has the loom. I'm screwed. |

Star! Just ordered one and a speedo healer. Now I have to reverse all the mods. They have a system where you can do the mot semi solo which is way much cheaper but stricter.
Will the DNA filters alone change the emissions? I hope the exhausts don't need chAnging back. I'm so slow with maintenance. Is there anything I can temporarily stick in the exhausts to lower the emissions, like a banana skin, absolutely sure they wouldn't notice. As always thanks guys |

As for the exhaust, I guess it depends whether a catalyst IS required in Japan for the test? If it isn't you'll be fine, if it is, then you'll have to go back to stock or get some cat inserts for the Leo Vince (is it Leos you have?) Sorry, but can you explain what a "semi solo" test is in Japan? Why is it more strict? |
