Misfiring or not at all firing

Hey guys,

My 2010 XTX has a problem.
It feels like the bike is misfiring or not firing when running in a low RPM setting.
During Idling it sounds and feels just like its not firing one stroke from time to time. it also happens when riding (80km/h 5th gear for example) its just a total loss of power for half a second or shorter.

Now I am familiar with surging and i am used to it, but this feels like a misfire.

Now the bike has a DNA stage 1 and the snorkel is removed, but I done that over 2 years ago. Also has a Iridium spark plug that has done a little over 10.000km. I have brought the bike to the Yamaha dealer and they didn't find any problems in the ECU. I myself have cleaned the filter and even fitted a new (spare) spark plug. but it haven't fixed the problem. I even fitted the old stock filter.

Any idea's?

O yeah, before i forget.
When I floor the bike or run at high RPM's there is no problem
I haven't changed anything on the bike for over a year (except maintenance) and it just started 2 weeks ago.
Bike as done a total of 16500km.

First step for me would be to put a bottle of STP (or similar) fuel cleaner into the fuel tank. I do this about 3 months as the fuel we purchase is often less than perfect and impurities and muck and water and stuff easily gets into the tank and thus into your injectors. Clean them out with a full tank plus the STP and see if she runs better. If not then move on to next step. Good luck!!! Simon

Found the problem.
It was the spark plug.

I thought I changed out the spark plug but when I removed it I gave it to my dad to let him take a look. Instead of giving me my spare one he gave me the old one back :P

Bike is running like a train again!
Thanks for y'all input guys, I am going to put some STP in the fuel because it couldn't hurt anyway.
