problem replacing/respoking front rim

Hi Guys,
I dont think this has been covered before but I've come across a problem respoking and replacing my front rim on a 2010 XTX.

The original rim was damaged so I bought some spokes and a rim here in Asia.
The rim is a SPD 17 x 3.50. Takasago's are available, but not where Im living.

The spokes are 80mm long (without the thread) and should fit the xtx fine as all spokes are the same length.

The odd thing is my spoke guy had an issue when fitting the spokes, the rim had the holes facing in the wrong directions!

I havent come across this before, having had a lot of rims replaced and relaced here with no problems.

the spoke guy said he can get around the problem but will have to fit 2 different length spokes to the bike and fit them in different locations...

I'll post some pics of the completed work and the outcome later...
