Trashed my OE pannier today - any spares?

Dropped my bike in the muddy gravel today (woops lurched on that front brake)

Stuck my right leg out but it was already going over, and I couldn't stop it.

My foot got trapped at a funny angle under the right pannier and mashed it right up!
Luckily my mate was there to help lift it off me, as with my leg stuck, I couldn't even move the thing!

It's like someone gave it a proper kicking! The box is dead as a Dodo.

Anyone got a right hand Yamaha pannier in silver as a replacement?

Many thanks,

Steve.

How bad is it? Post a pic. Seen some on eBay yesterday.

What is it with the right hand pannier?

I've also got a good left one but need the right one too.

I dismantled my damaged right one (lots and lots of blasted screws) and managed to glue it together. It isn't a good job, and it won't take another fall, but its all right holding a light load.
The lock bit is tricky, once opened all the bits jump out at you, then scatter themselves around the room, and theres some small bits.

I have tried extensively to get an inner panel, as this is the only bit that is broken, but its simply not sold, so you need to replace the whole pannier.

So i guess the message here, is if anyone is considering buying panniers and has read this, they shouldn't be stupid enough to fork out cash for the Yamaha crap.
The panniers are functional, very convenient, but are simply not suitable for motorcycles

I am looking out for 3rd party genuine motorcycle hard panniers.

I would however consider the Original equipment Top box

I have the OEM set as they came with the bike, the only drop so far was off the stand while I had a bad back and couldn't catch it! The panier release section broke, it worked but sure wasn't strong.
The top box is handy but doesn't even take my crash helmet if my scala is on it.
So I agree, get something stronger to replace the broken ones, I will when the time is right!

I'm also considering having some made to replace the Shad (oem) ones before they break. But i like the minimalistic aproach of the fitting points and considering to reuse them.

If i have some strong alu. boxes made there is no need for a big rack when the plastic ones can get bye without. Just having to figure out how to mount them

Here is a guy that stand by (on) his work :-)

If i remember correctly it is 3mm alu and welded all the way
