Top speed for the XT?

I have seen people on youtube ride their bikes in approx 187km/h (~116 mph). How fast can you drive with your bike?
I have not got my bike faster than 167 km/h (103.7 mph).. Well, I don't remember the weather conditions and I'm quite heavy (~98 kg, ~216 lbs) but how can the difference be so big?

I have open air filter (K&N), slipon, Kev O2 controller and a PowerJet to get more fuel.. I have default sprockets (15/45) as well.. Is it only possible to reach 187 km/h with other sprockets or do any reach those speeds with default sprockets?

Isn't my bike well "burned in" when it was new or why don't I reach higher speeds? It feels very responsive even in those speeds..

Well, I don't recall ever exceeding an indicated 95mph on mine and I don't intend trying to push the speed envelope any further either!

119mph with no luggage, tucked in, slight downhill.

Not even tickling 6,500 RPM... ran out of road before I could find out if it went any faster.

Im not looking for a performance bike, I just had a question why I only reach 167 km/h when others can reach 187 km/h .. That is 20 km/h more, quite alot..

Maybe it is because of My weight... 98 kg..

Wow , balls of steel !! & with no fairing !!

top speed XT

Hi I opened my xtz up for the first time this week end just out of curiosity. Sat bolt upright on the level it went round to an indicated 100 mph with no bother and i was not on full throttle!! well impressed. I know its probly low ninetys but still it hauled my ass 115 kg with no bother. oh its totally stock no performance mods yet. I dont think my speedo is as optimistic as some I drive this stretch of road regularly in my car and the average traffic speed is just under eighty. I cruise at 5000rpm on the bike and the speedo reads 82 ish. When i opened the bikeup I even left the fast pack BMWs who where doing around ninety for dead. I think my tom tom under reads when I have used it in the car its probly not recalculating fast enough.
