Hello!

I put hyperpro front and rear springs on my tenere 660z 2012.

Loved the results, more agile and fast bike, on and off road.


The question is:

I�m 1.91cm tall (6.3") and can�t put all my foot in floor! just the tip of my foot....

And i�m not very secure to drive this way.

So, whats the best solution? Any help?

Did you fit the fork springs with the spacers by any chance? When fitted correctly, they shouldn't make the bike very much taller at all. A little, but not so much a 6'+ guy would have an issue. I haven't heard of anyone else with this issue with the rear spring either.

You haven't got an ABS bike have you?

Did you raise the fork tubes in the yokes? I think the manual says 10mm.
Is the preload adjuster on the tubes level with the top of the tube?
Have you set the preload on the rear?

The hyperpro springs I had in the front didn't change the height for me, but the shock I had on the rear raised the bike a little after I set the preload correctly.

I did not put any spacers in fork springs! And did not rise the fork tubes...

How much I have to rise it? it�s normal to rise, or will change the springs rate?

Hi the hyperpro instructions say to put the forks up through the top yoke the 10mm mentioned.cheers

I had the rear shock built to my height and weight. It raised it slightly probably due to the old one having 45,000 miles on it. I'm 6ft 2" and sit flat footed with the front forks raised 10mm through the tubes. Hasn't the rear hyperpro shock got a bit of height adjustment in it ?

My bike raised after fitting the front forks. But after about 5000km they seem to have lowered back down to the original height. I suggest wait a while, strangely after changing the rear the bike height did not alter.

Been scratching my head a bit over my Hyperpro-sprung front end and picked up on this thread....

I bought my Ten with Hyperpro progressive springs and Ohlins shock already fitted (by Touratech I believe). The set up the preveious owner had dialed in was pretty much spot on for me riding with full load, so I didn't adjust anything. But having recently ruined the off-road handling by switching the Metal Mule lowering link for the original, I've started to look at setting up the suspension from scratch.

So having looked at my front forks, I have discovered that the pre-load is fully wound on, and the forks have not been raised in the triple clamp. Having read the posts above, that doesn't seem right, especially as the bike was set up originally with the back end lowered. Any thoughts??

I don't find where they say to fit the fork 10mm higher than stock.

Do you have a specific manual for fitting this fork springs on the XT660Z ?
