Afternoon All

Just a a quick introduction of myself, I've just bought a 660 tenere so I'm on here for the hints, tips and bits about performance. I'm based in the midlands of the UK and looking out for some green lane routes, so if anyone knows any or has some links that would be apreciated.

Chris.

Hi Chris,

Welcome, I have not lived in the UK for a while, but you could try this group http://www.trf.org.uk/home.html

They appear to cater for all types of trail riding.

Enjoy the Ten

You could try the TRF, there are mixed responses depending on the local groups, I've no idea what the Midland Group is like. Uberthumper is in that neck of the woods, so maybe can help. NickW909 is also in the Midlands.

Joining the TRF will give you access to lots of information about open lanes, and some help and guidance.

The other option is the local council (county), check their website for Coutryside Access, they must (a legal requirement) produce a Definative Map that has all the open trails marked. Some councils are good (Cumbria for instance), some are terrible but they have the information - you just need to extract it from them. You could try contacting the country side rangers, they will have good up to date knowledge.

If all else fails, we'll be having our annual forum get together in the Lakes in May 2014..... bit long to wait but there are plenty of trails up here to keep you happy.

Welcome aboard Chris.

TRF is definitely the best place to go for information, plus you'll meet some like-minded people in your area. As for county councils, if Norfolk is anything to go by (utterly useless), don't expect too much from Worcestershire!
