Hi all, thought I'd sign up. Just bought myself an XTZ660, it a 1992 model, imported in 1997.
It's in a very sorry state at the moment and hasn't been on the road since 2009. I managed to get it running to check it would before I strip it down. I've only run it for a short time as there is oil pumping out from somewhere under the starter motor, (I'm presuming the oil feed pipe). The wiring is a complete mess and the front plastics are completely shot!
No doubt I'll be on here as the rebuild progresses for advice, hope you all dont mind.
Anyone have any Ideas where I can get front end plastics from?, preferably the original square headlight, but I'm open to suggestions if anything else will fit? There seems to be a shortage of plastics on Ebay.
Cheers,
Mike.

Welcome on board Mike.

Good luck finding those illusive plastics! There seems to be a lot more stuff out there for the later twin headlight 3YF. Are yours beyond plastic welding/repair?

Try giving Granby Yamaha a try.

http://granbymotors.co.uk/motorcycle-spare-parts

They got all of the plastics for my 1985 XT600Z Tenere. They have access to both the European & Japanese stores and will take the time to search for you.
I also get 10% discount from them as a member of the Aircooled RD club, so it's worth asking. However the discount only applies to stock items, I didn't get discount on my plastics as they were special order....and cost 300!
