10 Years !!! Bloody hell. You must have spent some time on your knees getting that! I have been border hopping with 90 day tourist stamps. Been on the road for over 2 years now. Spent a lot of time in N America. Currently in Newfoundland with a girlfriend with a broken leg. The Trans Labrador Highway took her out. Hope you have a much fun as I've had over here.

Pippin,

Hope you have a great time.

Who did you use to ship your bike? Also, where did you ship to?

Nick

Surprisingly not, only spent about 3 minutes chatting with them in the embassy... guess it helped being an ex soldier, they love that kind of thing. Canadian border was even easier, they were stunned and amazed to see an English licence plate and just waved me on through.

Ahh man that sucks, hope she's healing up well and it wasn't to bad a of a break. 2 years that's awesome! Anywhere you'd recommend going whilst I'm here? Currently in Montreal and heading down to Toronto in the morning, that's if the storm going on here let's up a bit. If you find yourself heading back down south give me a shout.

Nick, I used James cargo. They ship out of heathrow and had my bike in New York in a week from me dropping it all off. Was a bit pricey but I was doing it short notice and it is the height of summer.... my plane ticket wasn't that much cheaper. If you're bringing one over this way make sure to apply for an EPA approval letter for importing your bike, takes about a week to get back. If you want to know companies for travel/motor insurance just give me a shout.

Drove up through the white mountains on the way here was absolutely amazing, kind of wish I'd stopped and stayed there a bit longer... all the moose are a bit of a hazard though!

I wish I had it that easy through borders, I always get raped. But I'm sure you will have your fair share of good and bad crossings. It just depends who you get and what mood they're in. I could recommend hundreds of places but I'm sure you've got your own basic plan. Just stick to the small roads and talk to the locals. They always like to give out secret spots. If you need a chat with someone, just get your map out at a gas station and within 5 mins someone will be chatting to you. If you're in the Toronto area look up Catherine at http://www.dualsportplus.com/Contact_Us_a/250.htm. Tell her Brian on the Tenere sent you. She's great and will point you in the right direction and help you with any gear you might need. Don't think I'll be down South for a while yet but I'll keep an eye out for ya. Safe travels. P.S, the missus is doing good.

The missus broke her leg on the Trans Labrador Hwy 3 weeks ago. Came off her KLR 650 on loose deep gravel. There are a few nasty spots up there. We are relaxing and seeing all the sights in Newfoundland.
