Talking hi there from stockport manchester xt660z

hi there i have hade my tenere for about a month now, got the bike a black 09 xt660z tenere compleatly stock so the mods so far are


1, dna stage 1 and 2

2, metal mule rad guard

3, venom handguards

4, aux power socket

5, kev mod

the thigs i need to do are sort out the cush drive and do a de-cat, i just have a coupple of questions that i hope you can help me with

1, why is there a small pool of oil in the right hand side of the airbox? worrying!
2, does anyboddy know wich plastics fit the rear of the bike either side of the rear wheel? think there off a honda dirtbike?? thanks for the info! and sorry if there are alreaddy posts about my questions on here i may not be looking properly cheers !

(1) I'd guess that the airbox drain hose hasn't been emptied and it's backed up with oil (from the breather) into the airbox. They do need emptying often if you do a lot of high speed mileage if it, especially if it has the early type breather assembly (it was replaced on 2009 on bikes though - but yours may well be a 2008 model, registered in 2009?)

(2) XR400 panels are what you want to look for. They'll need a slight trim to fit, but that's what you've seen fitted to other XTZs.

(Now sold on, sob) 2011 Blue XT660X with gold wheels, was 26,500 km.
Engine mods: K&N Stage 1 filter, DNA Stage 2 filter, snorkel removed, Kev fuel mod fitted.
Plus: smoked Puig screen, Yam aluminium sump guard, Yamaha / Acerbis handguards, Givi Trekker aluminium side cases, Leo Vince X3 cans plus Kev front fork mod and Fender Xtender. Just fitted Michelin Road Pilot 3 tyres.

SOLD the XTX for a Super Ten 1200. And just bought a Raptor 700 so staying on here for some tips....

ahh ok thank you both! yes i will empty it out it out just wondered if this was normal, i will have a look for the xr 400 plastics on ebay or such, i did buy the bike from south sheilds and rode it back to manchester non stop, this is my second ever bike previos was a yamaha wr450f i love it so far XD
