Cutting out in rain

Hi all,

I'm certainly a newbie, riding 4 months, own an XT660X, i love the bike it is prefect for my daily commute however I am similar problems when riding in rain. The first time i got caught in very heavy rain after 5mins the bike cut out and wouldn't start (ended up pushing it home!). On a friends suggestion i started carrying round a can of damp start (similar to WD40) and sure enough when it cuts out if i spray some on the spark plug and HT lead end it starts again!

I'm wondering about replacing the HT lead and spark plug? I suspect water may be getting in somewhere round there through a crack in the rubber or something.

Any info / suggestions would be appreciated ta.
