Do the new XTX's still have rust problems in the UK?

Hey all,

Looking at getting a commutermoto, namely the XTX hence joining the forum. ;o I've pretty much decided I'm going to get one, but it'll be my only mode of transport, so I'd like to know if they've since fixed the corrosion problems. The UK is renowned for its diabolical weather. The bike will mostly be kept outside, parked at a truck depot.

Would it be worth getting a cover for the bike, or would that just trap the moisture and make it rust? Any tips on how to prevent rust, specifically for this bike?

Thanks in advance!

Well I think that all bikes suffer in the UK weather and I would suggest that a good cover is well worth it yes, and WD40 sprays weekly all over the metal. Have fun!!

Rode my 09 xt through 2 winters and suffered no corrosion. Just make sure you coat everything that can corrode in acf50.
