More than a cush rubber problem.
Ok so we've all seen the cush rubbers threads, but when I took mine apart on my new(5500 miles) xtr I noticed that the rubbers had worn, ever so slightly, the inside casing. (See pic below)

It's not much but you can notice when you run your fingers across it. Anyone else had this and is it protentaly going to eat through all the cush rubbers that I'm going to have to replace over time? For the time being I've done the Kev mod for this cush problem using by bicycle tubes as I don't have any motorcycle tubes yet but will be replacing as soon as I can. Also if anyone would mind taking a look at my rubbers and telling me wether they look too worn to use and should I chuck them, replace them with new and then do the Kev mod. Cheers guys |

For 5500 miles your rubbers look in remarkably good nick to me? I've seen loads far worse at that mileage. The ones I changed at 4000 miles (from new) were chewed to pieces; you could barely tell they were cush drive rubbers at all!
I wouldn't worry. Do the inner tube mod and it'll be fine. |

Bearings seemed fine at a good glance. I did find afterwards that when tightening the axle bolt it started pushing the r/h side chain tensioner out by a couple of mm's.
in the end I had to push the wheel hard to keep it level both sides. But its prob nothing but I've never noticed having to do that with any others of my bike. |

Same as mine. Reason? I don't know. I have noticed that clearance between internal diameter of bearing and axle seems a little bigger than it should be. But I don't know how much is acceptable.

How long has you been aware of this (in miles) and have you noticed it getting any worse? Hopefully it's just nothing.

My bike has 29000km. 3000km earlier, I have noticed that clearance, but scars has been there from 8000th km. I believe that clearance might be from the beginning.
