I would wait for the fuel mod to fit the stage 2, your fine with the stage 1 & snorkel removed & no fuel mod.

Hi,

might be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. Has anybody had any problems with DNA Stage 2 filter exposing to weather conditions. While riding there's probably no problems, but I was more thinking about when the bike is parked etc...

The bike, while on its stand, will lean towards its left side and therefore expose the filter towards the clouds. So when the heavy rain comes, its like pouring water straight towards the filter.

Never as long as the filter is oiled correctly, I rode in the rain all the time with mine for 3 years, then went to a DNA stage 3 air box.

Is there any point in going to DNA stage 2 with the standard exhausts?

Almost anything you do on the intake side will see benefits, standard exhaust or otherwise. In fact there are only relatively minor gains to be had from aftermarket exhausts.

I'll keep it in laymans terms the art of the internal combustion engine is to get as much air and fuel into the motor mixed in the correct ratio and out the exhaust as quickly as possible.

Now as an experiment put you hand over your mouth and your finger up your bum!!! how well do operate!!! exactly hence why you need a DNA1 and 2,and the snorkel out, either fuel mod/02 or a PC to mix and a set of open cans to get it all out as fast as pos.

It gets even easier their are no short cuts and never have been, sadly the solution is called money!! but their variations on what to spend it on.
