Not that new.

Evening all,

Joined a few month's back and did alot of reading here before I bought my bike a week ago. A 2010 XT660Z and I am so happy I did, I cannot get enough of it. Get to ride it to work and back and weekend......

Now that the hardware is here I have a loads of questions on various upgrades and general stuff I will be posting over the coming weeks and month's.

Glad to see you've found yourself a Tenere - an astute choice of colour too!

I seem to recall you were concerned about the seat height? How you finding that side of things?

Enjoy!

Actually the seat hight it is not that bad, getting on and off is a bit of a stretch, but once on I manage the bike well. When stopping a slight shift in the seat and my right leg can go down and hold myself and the bike. I am going to keep going as is, not sure if it will be a bit difficult once loaded but we will have to wait and see. I like the view you get in traffic ....8-)

It will drop an inch or so, if it has a standard shock. The worst is will ever (in terms of ride height) be is when there is just you on the bike.

Enjoy your new steed.

I suggest you stick with the seat height....on an earlier XT660X I had the suspension lowered and the handling was awful, so my current steed is at the standard height and handles MUCH better. Enjoy your bike and this excellent site!!!!
