renthals with yam handguards?

Does/has anyone ran renthal bars with yam handguards. If so how did you do it?
Aside from tapping the inside of the bars to take the adaptdor I'm guessing it can't be done.

Alternatively is there a cheaper handguard that can be put on with renthals?

just go into a bike shop and ask...
get a set of end plugs for fat bars or 7/8 alloy bars..
clamps at the other end for 7/8 bars..
yer can buy all the bits on there own...
I find Zeta build the best bark busters..there fittings
lock up real tight...they use bolts/nuts not threaded holes
in soft alloy like a lot do..

I did think there would be a way around it. I was hoping that it wasnt just some yam ploy to make you use their kit only.

Ill eventually get some new ones such as barkbusters or something. Just gotta save the pennies.

If you wanted to use the Genuine Yamaha handguards with 7/8 renthal bars you could try something like Apico handlebar end plugs which are available in 4 different sizes.

http://www.apico.co.uk/body-work-and...teel-bars.html

On my first Tenere in 2009 i fitted a set of Polisport sharps handguards approx 18 a pair.

Hi, Is it possible to install the original yamaha xt660z handguards on the renthal fatbar? Any end plugs suitable for them?

I have the original handguards and I would like to swap the handlebar for a renthal but since i'm happy with these handguards i would like to keep them in.

Thank you!
