XT660Z Dakar
Ok, I thought that I should share some pictures on my Tenere. This is how I think it would look like if it would be in Dakar..... :-) More photos and info will be available later!

That is mint!!!! lovely bike.
what bracket is used for you Montana? i want mine like that so it sits right above the clocks. Have you changed your grey panels and grab handles? i want to paint mine but i've heard all the stories about when they have one tiny bump the paint just flies off! im amazed you got those stickers to fit on the grey (now white) pannels. good stuff fella, thats a great bike. |

Phil ten:
Thank you! The bracket for my Montana is made by myself "Xphase". Maybe i will do some more for sale if there is enough interest... Its very tiny and light, it grabs around every 12mm shaft and fits both the Garmin Montana and Garmin Zumo 660. The "magic" about the grey to white, and also the black grab handles is foil wrapping! Everything is foil and is easy to recover to original gray and also "easy" to replace if you make any marks or scratch. Well, its not easy.... But its easier then needing to sandpaper and replace the lacquer! Also it doesn't crack as the lacquer probably would have if there's a fall. AND.... There is a good surface for using stickers and decals! I have never done wrapping before, and there is a hell of a work behind doing this. (At least for me...) But as you practise, its become easier. And its also not that expensive to try! I will further on use a transparent foil to protect stickers and white foil a little more from rocks and bumps. |

The vinyl wrap looks really good. I can tell you've got a lot more patience (and time) on your hands than I have!

Many thanks!
Phil ten: The vinyl wrap is white, I did try to spray with the original Yamaha white on top of it. But it did't went out any good.... So only white vinyl wrap, it isn't the same white (pearl) as the rest of the bike but when all side panels was mounted I did not bothered about the small difference. USD dampers is actually on the "to do list". WP or a more budget YZ450 dampers, I dont know yet.... but it would probably not happen until next winter! :/ |
