Gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a qusetion about the snorkel...

I'm currently running a 2012 XTX with standard cans and I've already upped the Co levels. Will removing the snorkel mean that I need to change anything else? Don't have any spare cash atm for any other fuel mods unless they're free.

I just want to experience what the sound is like with it out to see if I want to run it like that.

Any help would be great thanks guys

Re: Gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

No mods needed if just removing snorkle, its said that you only need to start using fueling fixes if you start using dna stage 2 filter and above

Thanks for the info

Does the same apply for any aftermarket filter? Like if I was to change the filter at all, I'd need to start changing the fuelling?

Re: Gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

If you fitted a K&n or dna stage 1 replacment the fuel mixture will lean out slightly but not to much to cause any issuses.

On my last xtx i ran snorkle out k&n stage 1 and dna stage 2 with aftermarket pipes and no fueling correction and never had any problems and i ran 15.000 miles on that setup.

This time i have purchesed the kev fuel mod worth the price compared to a powercomander.

The bike will run fine with the snorkel removed & no fuelling device.

Save you money until you can buy a stage 2 filter + fuel mod, it will roar like a lion & will add a smile to your face with the increase in power.

Re: Gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

The difference between the Kev mod and the PC becomes apparent when you start tuning your fuelling using a dyno. The ability to build a custom map allows you infinite control over your mixtures and ratios. The trade up is how much do you want to spend to gain a bit of extra torque and some hp. I run a PC but to my mind the Kev mod is amazing value for money! Also consider doing the O2 mod because that makes a huge difference to a/f ratio which is what causes hunting at low revs. This site had some very good PC maps as a starting point if you don't have access to a dyno.

I only put my post up for those guys on a budget and unless folks can find a secondhand PC be happy with Kevs mod more than good enough and anyone in the West Mids I still have mine somewhere???,I run two bikes with PC's fitted, but my time is consumed with another thats had a Rexxer map blown straight into the ECU,talk about making life simple.
